Xbox One disc games not installing on Xbox Series X

NO! Unlike some games that have an Xbox One version that will upgrade to the the S|X version if you put it in a series X, NBA2K for S|X is a complete different version than the Xbox One version and it will not work if you put the disc inside of an Xbox One. Xbox One cannon run a Series X game and putting a Series X disc inside an X1 will not install the X1 version.

This is an incorrect assumption. You can insert an xbox one disc and download updates that may improve visuals and frame rates on Xbox Series X/S but in order to play you still need the disc unless you own the digital version of it.

Xbox Series X will utilize the Xbox One X version of enhancements while Xbox series S will use the Xbox One S enhancements.

You will not get a free game by borrowing or renting a physical version of a game and installing it on Xbox Series X/S.

Yes I'm aware of that. I own the disc version of Xbox One game, but installing it on Series X machine

All Xbox One games with exception of Kinect based games, work on the Series X.

Note that all Xbox One games have to be installed. No games can be run directly off the disc.

Yes it detects there is a disc inside it just doesn’t start installing

It’s just the games that say Xbox one the games that say Xbox series x and Xbox one starts installing right away
