Transferring from Xbox One to Xbox Series X + Selling on

Hello,

I have some stupid questions to ask, but I want to be sure that what I am thinking is right.

I included the story after asking these questions for more context if it helps to understand and to provide answers.

1. How to remove an Xbox profile off an Xbox One so that nothing is lost when factory resetting?

2. Does the person have to set up the Xbox Series X first to then ensure transfer of Xbox profile before factory resetting the Xbox One?

3. Does both consoles need to be on or can the Xbox One be turned off?

4. Is there anything that cannot be transferred from the Xbox One to Xbox Series X the person needs to know about.

Side Notes:

- The person is a member of my family's friend's family (as I do not know who will set up the Xbox Series X)
- I gave 'the person' answers such as about downloading the profile from The Cloud, adding the Xbox Series X to your Microsoft account: Related stuff I found via the Xbox site.

- These questions were asked to me by 'the person' and I was not sure when asked at that time.

Story:

So, a family friend (the mother) was asking for help about selling their youngest son's Xbox One because he was playing Xbox on the oldest son's Series S and not really playing on the Xbox One anymore. But they brought a new Xbox Series X so that both sons can play on just one console at home. So, my mother got in touch with me to go around and try to help them out as (what I believe) the oldest is not available to ask for help as he moved to university and the youngest is not that good with technology, nor is the mother.
Having to tell the mother and the youngest what they can do + what I shown them off the Xbox website, they are still unsure about setting up the Xbox Series X as the mother asked these questions to me and I could not find an definitive answer to those questions above.

Therefore, I told the mother I will ask Microsoft Support on her behalf about how to transfer everything from an Xbox One to the Xbox Series X while asking some of the questions that got me thinking more than twice about.

So, I will appreciate if someone does not mind answering these questions as like instructions to help re-ensure the mother and the youngest son that they have no problems/ nothing to worry about when I can show them how they can set up the Xbox Series X.

A network transfer is just an alternative method. All purchases are tied to an account so games can just be redownloaded on a new console. If they're stored on an external storage device you could also just move the device over.

3. Unless you're doing a network transfer to move games over, you don't even need the old console to move to a new one.

This is going to sound stupid, but would the games come over anyway with the Xbox account via the Cloud on the Series X and/or adding the Series X to the devices on the Microsoft account. Or is a network transfer an alternative method?

4. Kinect games are the only ones that are not backwards compatible with a Series X. Otherwise, everything else will transfer.
