Xbox Series X overheating during long gaming sessions

I've been experiencing some issues with my Xbox Series X overheating during extended gaming sessions. It works great for a couple of hours, but then suddenly starts getting really hot. I can feel the heat coming off the console, and sometimes the performance seems to dip, with occasional stuttering and frame drops.

I've ensured the console is in a well-ventilated area and even tried cleaning it regularly to remove any dust buildup. Despite these efforts, the overheating continues to occur. Has anyone else faced this issue, and are there any tips for keeping the console cooler during long gaming marathons?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

if you're not getting messages saying you're overheating, it's not overheating. High-end electronics get hot overtime with use, this is natural and normal. A normal operating temperature for a GPU is 80 C/175F

Games have random performance issues especially if you're playing online, once again this is normal

Vasiliki, it is not something normal and less in this console model since its cooling system is very efficient, has it verified that there is no excess dust in all the ventilation grilles and even in the fan grille? if there are no traces of being clogged by dust, the recommendation is definitely to send your console to Technical Service for a check.

The fact that the console shuts down directly due to overheating is already a sign that something is definitely not working well.

high-end electronics get hot during gameplay, because you're working them hard, this is going to continue to happen and continues with more current systems as well. Heat is not a problem, unless the system tells you it's overheating.

The normal temperature range for a graphics card is in the 80s celsius/180F. they get hot

Your phone can charge up off the xbox but it's not really made for that so it takes a long time

Precisely, it's not going to quick charge your phone, but I still plug it in during longer sessions of gaming just to get a little battery boost. Hopefully with the Xbox Series X it'll be better at charging a phone.
