Attempting to create an outlook account for my child in order to add to Xbox family group,...

Same problem here. Created two new outlook accounts for my kids and it won't let me add them to my family. I get the cannot add child they are already a member of another family error. Hopefully they fix this soon!

I am afraid there is no other way.

You must change the privacy settings in your account to play on Realms, in order to do that, You have to add your account as Child Account in a

Family Group. You must ask your parents to create a Microsoft account, and use it as Parent Account to create the family group, so you can be added as a child account.

After the family group is created, you can change the privacy settings in your account. following the steps

You cannot change your account to be a child account. You will have to create a new account for your child.

To create a child account, the parent account must first create a family group. The family group can have up to six members, including the parent account. If your account was before a Child account as a part of a Family Group, You'll have to add yourself again into a Family as a Child account. You must use another account as Parent, then after you add your account as Child, you make the privacy changes in
your account through the Parent account. Afterwards; you can remove your account from the Family.

If you don't have another account to make it as Parent, you must create a new one.

Can you try to login using a Browser and set it to In-private or incognito mode.

Make sure that the date of birth is properly set.

Once you are done creating an account, make sure to add them to the family group.
