    To whom it concerns,

    This post is more of a complaint than anything so I will start with my actual question, if anyone cares to chime in: How would one sign into Mircosoft for Minecraft (Java Edition) but nothing else?

    You see, my trouble is that certain friends of mine won't play Minecraft with me because they are concerned with infecting their Windows machines with Mircosoft products. To be honest: I can't really blame them.

    I was an Office 365 subscriber for many years, however I have come to the conclusion that many of the Microsoft services are actually not that good. Office gave me the impression that Microsoft is more concerned with DRM than actually making good text/spreadsheet editors. However, I can't help but shake the feeling that the entire Windows OS is strong-arming me into subscribing once again.

    Recently, I have become immensely broke and I have moved towards services which are either self-hosted or free. While I am mostly here to ask the question above, I also beg and plea that we can make Microsoft great again!

    as long as you own minecraft then there is no charge to play it or play online on PC. just install the xbox app and install minecraft done, if you don't own minecraft is when it will either ask you to purchase it or sub to gamepass to get it.

    when minecraft is installed it just creates an encrypted folder on whichever drive you want to install to, this folder can easily be removed once you uninstall minecraft. the encrypted folder is the only drm for the xbox app.

    you can just use a local account on windows but to use the xbox app you need to be signed into the microsoft store and the xbox app. windows itself does not need to be signed into with an account.

    If that's the case, that's ridiculous. I want to play minecraft multi-player on xbl, which I paid for both xbl and minecraft on my Xbox. But I can't play with my Playstation in the other room because they both are on my microsoft email. So I gotta put my son's microsoft email on the PS5 minecraft login and mine on the Xbox since xbl is exclusive to login email.... so lame.
