Hard drive re-format

Discus and support Hard drive re-format in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I put my new hard drive in the xbox and wanted to use it for capture purposes but I misread the descriptions and chose games and apps.     Hard drive re-format


    I put my new hard drive in the xbox and wanted to use it for capture purposes but I misread the descriptions and chose games and apps. I dont have a PC so I cant change it that way, is the are way to actually change it so it can be used to store captures or did I just essentially waste my money on this hard drive?

    You should be able to go to Settings > System > Storage on the console and then format it again.

    To make your hard drive work again with your computer/or windows you need to plug it into your Xbox 360, and re-format it. Your hard drive will then be formatted to Fat-32, but you can plug it into Windows/your computer, and re-format back to
    NTFS, (Which is, the recommended one). Since the Xbox one runs of the Windows 8 Platform you cannot use your hard drive on Windows. The Xbox One does not format the external hard drive correctly. I have learned this my self.
    Doing the following steps can let you use the hard drive with Windows again.
