    How to fix XBOX ONE X games taking 40 minutes to start up?


    I have owned this XBOX ONE X since 2019. For the past couple months, I've had to endure long load times for all games on my XBOX ONE X. Basically, when I start any game, it sits at the initial load screen for about 40 minutes (ex. For Fallout 4, it stays at the grey "PLEASE STAND BY" screen or for Call of Duty it shows the intro cutscene before staying at a black screen that says "NOT SIGNED IN TO A PROFILE" on the top left). After 40 minutes, the system says, "Syncing data for [game]" and loads. Then, I am able to play any game within seconds as normal without having to wait for them to sync too (ex. I can switch from Fallout 4 to Black Ops 6 in seconds).

    Switching to another game before the 40 minute mark results in the game repeatedly saying, "For some reason, the game took too long to start" and crashing to the homepage. The total 40 minute wait time seems shared across all games

    Strangely, if I go to "Manage game and add-ons", there is no saved data on my XBOX until it syncs (ex. For Fallout 4, there is no reserved data at all for mods or cache, and my profile's save games take up 0mb). During this time, I can browse the store or use apps like YouTube or Peacock without issue. I can even browse messages and games. However, checking for updates takes a long time.

    This happens with any game whether on gamepass or owned digitally (so not just Fallout or Call of Duty). This happens whether NAT Type is Open or Moderate. My internet is strong and no other device experiences lag. In fact, playing Call of Duty has no lag. This happens when logged in as the owner of all games and Gamepass.

    Restarting or shutting down the device fixes nothing; I could play for 4 hours, then restart and have to wait 40 minutes again. The only workaround seems to be putting the console to sleep instead of shutting down.

    Can't manual save only auto?

    An amazing number of problems is resolved by cold starting the X-Box One. I had several issues just to get this game to run without sitting at an endless loading screen. Turns out it wasn't the game it was the X-Box One. By clearing the X-Box One cache
    that allows for quick starting in less then 30 seconds it fixed this problem as well as the later problem with only being able to Auto save. A few days after the loading screen fix I had lost electricity while playing and had thought the save file damaged
    in some way. I cold started the X-Box one and it fixed that problem as well. To cold start: Make sure your X-Box One is turned off, remove the plug from the wall, wait 2 minutes, plug the X-Box power cord back into outlet, and turn on the X-Box One. You
    should see the 3 little dots being highlights left to right. It can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 3-4 minutes. The second time I did this after I had lost power it took almost 4 minutes to start.

    sort of the same thing happens to me. I turn on my xbox and its justs stays on the picture of the Xbox logo for like 40 minutes. then it finally gets to the start up menu, but it seems it has no memory. I can still play games but when I press play on the
    screen it takes another 20 minutes for the game to load up. I just want my xbox memory back and my account. and im pretty sure I didn't get hacked.

    1 minute is pretty quick for a cold start. You do realize that the X1 has multiple OS and the PS4 only has 1 right? For all of the multimedia components and everything that's inside of the X1, I don't think that a 1 minute start up is bad at all.

    Its less than 2 minutes at least. My Windows 7 Intel Core i5 320GB HDD HP Pavilion takes longer than that to start up from cold (about 2-3 minutes for ALL the programs and stuff to load ready).
    Grab an SSD for the OS, you'll be amazed at the
    difference.

    From off to desktop in less than 30 seconds for me.

    It does have a 5400rpm HDD and 3 OPERATING SYSTEMS (Xbox OS, Windows kernel, Hypervisor). This maybe why the competition takes a bit quicker since they have only 1 OS which may be quicker but less advanced than 3 operating systems made by M? Both run on
    an AMD Jaguar 8 core APU Xbox 1 has a faster clock speed 1.75Ghz to 1.6Ghz and 853Mhz to 800Mhz. There might be an update to make it a bit faster.
