    Hi, I experienced this issue last night with my Xbox Controller while I was playing some games on my PC and apparently it was caused by some specific brand of AA batteries. When I use Kodak AA batteries on my controller, it seems it somehow messes up with both of the triggers and they get activated randomly. I couldn't make anything of it, so I felt like I should ask if anything was wrong with my controller or is this something expected to happen with faulty or low quality batteries. I do not experience this problem with any other brands. And after I'd changed them, the problem was gone.

    No, I haven't tried a regular xbox one controller because I don't own one yet. However, I've read about others having the same issue where only the buttons substituting the triggers will not work on PC. I will make a post where you suggested though. Thanks!

    I cleaned the outer shell and since the controller is out of warranty I went ahead and popped it open and everything inside appears perfectly clean. I can't tell where the trigger makes contact with the circuit board or how the board registers a press. Anyone
    know? I'm fairly confident with my soldering skills if something needs a replacement.

    Have you ever cleaned them? More than likely just some dirt in the switch. And it`s surprising how much builds up over time, even from the cleanest of hands.

    A good quality electrical contact cleaner usually gets them working a treat again.
