I’m trying to assign a phone number to my email account

Have you used this phone number in the past? It seems that your phone number is linked to a different account based on the error you mentioned. Did you try a different phone number?

The phone/number I’m using isn’t the one associated with the account. The one that’s on there is my previous phone number that I no longer have. The support team usually asks if I have access to the number on the account. so, I know it’s not the one I’m currently using. I guess I could barrow someone’s phone and try to log in real quick, is that what your suggesting.?

I do have access to the number, and can give it a try. However, it doesn’t give my me the option to confirm with the phone number and only the two emails, (one of which is inactive). This is why I’m trying to get someone from Microsoft’s attention who could unlock my account or disable two factor or something. Hope this information helps!

I’m in the process of changing the email to my email instead of my dads phone number when I do that I will be able to change the password on 7/21/23

Hello Dérek, the purchase don’t show on my sons App Store purchases account account and he doesn’t have a Microsoft account.

EE state that the purchases show as Microsoft and due to that being 3rd party they can’t trace it.

I’m aware that purchases can be made and charged to a phone contract account just with a phone number however this would need approving and it hasn’t been not via text or email.

And I’m inclined to believe as I went through everything with him, he states he doesn’t even know his number so I’m unsure on how to trace them.
