Can't enable HDR. Need some help

Discus and support Can't enable HDR. Need some help in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I'm having trouble enabling HDR on my xbox. Anyone know the proper settings?     Hi, Jenny! Thank you for reaching out.

    I'm sorry you are experiencing issues with enabling HDR on your console.

    Could you check if your TV/monitor supports both 4K and HDR? You can see this at Settings > General > TV & display options > 4K TV details.

    If your TV supports both of these features, go back to the previous screen and select "Video modes". Please try checking "Allow 4K" and see if that allows you to enable HDR.

    In addition to this, please check your TV/monitor settings to see if HDR features are enabled on it.

    Yes, with hdr enabled it switches automaticly into hdr mode...... Thanks for the help guys, I'll check some settings later today when I get home ..

    Yes, I agree but as you said, I don't know why XB1X refuses to send HDR over 1080p or 1440p as it is now. If you force manual settings it makes you enable 4k before it'll enable HDR but in automatic settings I can click "enable HDR" and it still says "your
    TV doesn't support HDR for games". All I can think is that somehow, some way, Xbox wasn't designed or engineered to output HDR through a non-4k signal. Since it's been like this for years I assume there is some sort of hardware limitation but I can't figure
    out what that is.

    I hope you're right, and I'd like to know the answer because that will affect whether I bother to upgrade or not.

    Hello

    If you have a 4K HDR TV you would need to Enable HDR in the Settings of your TV.

    Many TV manufacturer disabled HDR and it needs to be turned on manually.

    Seems weird that it can't as the Xbox One S does 1080p HDR, can't you just change the resolution to 1080p in the settings and have HDR enabled in the advanced video settings
