I have a question regarding HDMI cable

Yes, if you have an Xbox Series X|S console whose HDMI port is damaged, this could be fixed by requesting a service order from Microsoft. Unfortunately, this is not possible if you have an Xbox One console, as they have been discontinued for some time now and Microsoft no longer repairs them.

• If you'd like to request a service order for your console:

- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices

- Sign in to your Microsoft account.

- Click on "Register Device"

- Input your console's serial number and all required information.

* The serial number can be found on a sticker at the back of the console or at Settings > System > Console info.

- Once registered, its warranty status will be displayed next to the device's name.

- If you'd like to issue a service order for your device, please click on "See details" and then select "Start order" from the "Device Coverage" section.

I am having this issue as well. I have an Xbox 360s and I have always used only an hdmi cable to connect to the receiver. Then the receiver had a hdmi cable going to the TV. I never had any problems with surround over the hdmi cable so why is it not working?

And it is really pretty lame to answer someone's question with another question...

I understand you have some concerns regarding your HDMI cable.

As you already mentioned, that position is very similar to how HDMI cables come in a console's original packaging, but its radius is not as tight; due to this and the fact that the cable hasn't been bent but "curled" into that position, it shouldn't experience performance issues in the long run.

First to double-check, ensure you do not have both the hdmi and A/V cables connected at the same time. After that, try the following:

• Power off the console and TV
• Plug in the HDMI cable to the console (ensure no other video cables are connected)
  
• Plug the other end into the TV
• Turn on the TV and choose the correct input on the TV (HDMI 2 in your case)
• Follow these instructions here (specifically,option # 4) when you turn on the 360: support.xbox.com/.../tv-or-monitor-screen-is-blank-while-connected
  

If this works, you should be back at 480P. You can then go into to the System Settings and change your Display Options to 720P or 1080P.

I also looked at cheap HDMI 4k capable cables, they are 24k gold, and 10.2Gbps so not that much different.
