Why Xbox won’t turn on

Please unplug the power cord from the console, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in and press the Xbox button on the front of the console.

And then make sure the power cable is firmly connected to both the console and the wall outlet. Try using a different outlet to rule out any issues with the power source.

It is also important to ensure your console is well-ventilated and not overheating. Ensure there's enough space around the console for proper airflow.

Kindly check the light on the power supply. If it's solid white or orange, the power supply is working properly2. If there's no light, unplug the power supply, let it cool for 20 minutes, then try plugging it back in.

Yes I turn it on via the game optimizer and it still won’t let me turn it on the Xbox

I tried doing a hard reset and it did not work. I’ve tried restarting both router and Xbox numerous times. Any network setting I try to set manually won’t go through. The MAC address won’t restart after it’s entered. The IP addresses won’t go to the next screen after entering the Gateway IP. What is left to try?

Update:

Now my Xbox won’t turn on. I hit the button, it’s lights up and it makes the noise but immediately turns off. I had to unplug the power source for it to turn back on.

Don't use a power board.

Try a different power wall socket.

Ensure the power cable is firmly connected to the console.

Thanks for sharing those details. Please do the steps below in sequence to do a factory reset and let me know if it works:

- Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

- Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

- Wait 30 seconds.

- Plug the power cord back in.

- Press and hold the BIND button (the one you use to sync controllers) and the EJECT button, and then press the Xbox button on the console.

- Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.

- Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart.

Note: If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.

- You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

- The console should start and show the Troubleshooting screen

- Choose "reset this Xbox" and there you have the option to Keep Games and Apps (already downloaded) or to Remove Everything
