The verification code always be sent to the unwanted email

Hi, my friend decided to give me a microsoft account which I could use to play Minecraft. We changed the email to my personal email but everytime I try to login with the email, the code will always be sent to my friend's email which I don't have access of, so therefore everytime I try to login I would have to ask my friend to check their gmail for the code, which is really inconvenient. How do I fix this? thanks.

My guess is that would be the 2 factor authentication.

There are two things here.

1. The account that you login with

1. The account where the code will go.

You will have to get them both changed with help from the original user. You can change these settings in the Microsoft Account Settings.

usually verification codes are sent through email or sms. if you can't find it contact support.

Is this a problem with the security proofs? I'd check your email account as quite often a verification code is sent to that

Yes its up to date they even sent me a verification code to email which i recieved but still no email with shipping labels.

You should have a two-step verification process that allows you to have a code sent to your email OR a current phone number. Go to xbox.com, sign in with your email, click ‘i forgot my password’ and then choose to have a reset code sent your cellphone.
