XBOX PC app keeps asking for password on sign in.

I understand that you are having problems logging into the Xbox app.



Allow me to ask, is it possible to log in properly with other software besides Xbox? For example, if you try to log in to your account on the Microsoft Store, do you experience the same problem?



The fact that you repeatedly jump to the password screen is usually related to permissions or network settings, have you used network acceleration software or encryption software? This kind of software can affect this problem, if you have this kind of software, you need to uninstall it temporarily to see if the problem is restored.



In addition, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot network problems:

Press Win + S to search Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options > Advanced > Restore Advanced Settings > OK.

At the same time, open to the Internet Options, you can click: Connections > LAN Settings, see if the automatic detection settings are checked, check, proxy server if there is a check uncheck and click OK.

Locate: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc to find the hosts file cut to the desktop (that is, clear the operation of the host), and then see how the effect.



If the problem is still the same, in the taskbar search box, type “CMD”, right-click on the command prompt, select Run as administrator, in the administrator: Command Prompt window to execute the following command: netsh winsock reset Enter, and then restart the computer.



In addition, you can create a new local administrator account:

Press Win + S to search for CMD, right-click, run as administrator, and paste in the following two lines of command to create a new administrator local account:

net user test /add (test is the name of the new account, and the name can be changed as needed)

net localgroup administrators test /add (add administrator privileges to this account)

Press Win and click on your account and click Switch Accounts to use this account.



See if you get the same problem with the new account.

So on the Xbox app, if you sign out, then try to sign in again, it does not ask for an account and password, it just signs you in automatically?

If that's the case, please try to reinstall the Xbox app.

Mine is doing the same thing I don't have the 2 step verification turned on and it should and did before sign in automatically but now I have to type in the Microsoft password everytime

try signin on https://account.live.com, check "security and Password", xbox security requires 2 Information to be added and validated. if "2step verification" is enabled, your console is asking for an
app-password instead of your common Password, you can either Setup to use it this way or disable this Feature.

when you have check aboved, try sign in on your console and exatly read what your xbox is asking for.

- does it say Password incorrect?

- does it direct you to an Internet address?

- does it provide an error code?
