My halo 3 odst disks are mistakenly recognized as blu ray/dvd by My Xbox.

Understanding that the alo 3 odst disks you purchased are incorrectly recognized by the Xbox as blu ray/dvd. i understand how you feel.



You can try the following steps to see if you can fix it:



1. clean the disks: make sure there are no visible scratches or dirt on the surface of the disks.

2. Restart the Xbox: Sometimes restarting the host computer can solve the problem. 3.

3. Update your system: Check to make sure your Xbox is up to date by checking for available system updates.

4. If your console has the Halo 3: ODST game installed, you can try uninstalling and inserting the disk again to reinstall the game.



If none of the above methods work, you can insert another game disc again, or insert this disc into another game console to see if the same thing happens to troubleshoot if the problem is with the disc itself.

If the next xbox uses blu ray disks there will be no more need for disk changing. When the original xbox 360 launched the battle between HD DVD and Blu Ray was still going on. When HD DVD lost, Xbox discontinued that disk drive.

As for the noise, if you install the disk to the hard drive there is no noise.

I think it is because the 360 uses HD DVD'S, most games that I have seen have been on 2 disks. With the XBOX One changing to Blu-ray disks, all game should be on one disk. Blu-ray disks can hold a lot more data than a HD DVD can.

ok, i found the characteristics of the BD- Xbox one. Blu-ray Disk - 6x CAV Blu-ray BD-ROM + 8x CAV DVD

The Blu-ray disk uses the same technology as the CD/DVD
disk, the difference is the paths used to store all the 1 & 0 is narrower on a BR disk. So in being better all it does is store more information. The differences are in the drive and player, if you installed a DVD drive in a blu-ray player it would
put out the same picture but be limited in length because of the amount of storage available on the DVD disk. So really this disk technology is really old and out dated, time for something new!

I also own a HD-DVD player for playing DVD movies so I could save wear and tear on my 360 drive. IMO, my 360 DVD play back looks just as good as my PS3 and Samsung Blu-ray player.

The main reason HD-DVD lost was because it didn't have the backing like Blu-ray, money helped the movie companies make up there mind which way to go.
