    Hello, someone stole my gamertag and it's been over 2 years im pretty sure. I contacted xbox a while ago and one of the workers told me to wait that long to get it back. The account hasent been used so how I can get my old gamertag back? PLEASE let me know.

    If it's longer than 12 characters then i'm afraid not.

    I'd suggest not letting your friends on your account as that can get you into trouble.You can even put a pass key on your account to prevent other people using it.

    Sea of Thieves in Alpha, and it would be linked to your account not the specific name of the gamertag. Did you change your e-mail too?

    If the system says the gamertag is not available, then the gamertag is not available. I'm afraid your only options are sticking with your new tag or choosing a different one.
