  1. Deleting Activision Account also Deletes my Xbox account?

I am trying to delete my Activision account, it is a blister and sore on my history - long story short I have enforcement on that account because I was young and stupid and used thought cheating in the game wasn't a big deal. I was banned from the current Call of Duty titles and it sucks but I guess I understand. I just think its a bit extreme to ban a person from ALL future titles, now that Black Ops 6 is coming out I would like to play - I would like to play it on my 10 year old Xbox account game pass day one.

I decided I want to delete my Activision account it states I am unable to UNLINK my Xbox/Steam from it due to enforcement and when I go to the policies to delete my information as is my right - it states "The account(s) you log in with, and any account(s) linked to it, will be deleted."

So my concern is wondering if there is anyway to delete this account and move on in any way without losing my Xbox and Steam - losing those accounts are unacceptable and I feel my rights should at least include the option to delete my Activision alone.

Or can I delete and recover my Xbox and Steam account.

I will include the full wording below -

Please log in to the account(s) for which you would like to submit a request to delete your personal information (Right to Erasure). The account(s) you log in with, and any account(s) linked to it, will be deleted.

Please note that we may retain personal information that we cannot verify belongs to you or that we are permitted or required to retain by applicable laws, such as information that we need to protect other users or our platform, complete internal processing that we previously disclosed to you, maintain records of your request, and for other legal purposes.

*Please note: Your request will permanently delete all personal information associated with the account you log in with, including all personal information associated with any other account(s) you have linked to that account at the time you submit your request. This cannot be reversed.

Then it lists my accounts linked

    Battle.Net, Steam, Xbox

We've detected the following linked account(s):

    ACTIVISION ACCOUNT:

    ************

    LINKED PLATFORMS:

    Battle.net: **********Steam: *********XBOX: *********

*Please note: Personal information associated with the account(s) included in this list will be processed upon submission of your request. If your request includes an Activision account, this will include personal information for all Call of Duty games with cross progression starting with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Crash Team Rumble as well as games in Beta or Limited Release.

    :)

Deleting Activision Account also Deletes my Xbox account?

In summary, I really need reassurance here.

I want to delete Activision but because of that wording I am fearful that proceeding with the request will delete the other two accounts I have thousands of dollars and honestly probably countless hours on those accounts I need them left alone.

I do not care about the Activision account history or saved progress I want to start fresh.

I want to delete this Activision account that has enforcement on it and create a new one and have it connected to my Xbox/Steam.

I can understand from a technical standpoint they dont have access to microsoft but i considered this request a form of legal request that I thought might like push to all of them and due to the enforcement I cant prevent that

If I proceed you are telling me that the wording they used is not accurate? Like for sure I will not lose my Xbox account or Steam in any way?

Deleting Activision Account also Deletes my Xbox account?

Yes, it is physically impossible for Activision to delete your Xbox or Steam account. Activision can only delete data on their system, such as your Activision account and the account connections, but not the accounts themselves. As this data is stored on Xbox's/Steam's system, which they can't access or submit a request to delete as they are not the account holder.

Only you can request to delete your account directly through the company you have the account with (in this case Microsoft or Valve), as you are the account holder. Activision has no authority or technical ability to close accounts from other companies and services.

In summary, closing your Activision account will not delete your Steam or Xbox accounts, but it will remove the account connections from Activision's system.

Hi Anthony. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. I can assure you that deleting your Activision account won't delete your other accounts such as Xbox or Steam, this is impossible for Activision to do from a technical standpoint.

It is strangely worded, but it simply means the account connection and any information associated with those connections from Activision's side will be deleted, it won't delete the actual accounts. However, as your online progress in Call of Duty games is linked to the Activision account, you will lose your multiplayer progress in these games.

Please reach back if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

Hello, how do I log in to Activision via a connected xbox if the xbox is blocked

You mean your xbox account is suspended or your Activision account then you cant

If you deleted your activision account then you cant as you would've had to unlink your xbox activision account before the suspension.

You can't use deletion to dodge a ban

    Activision account email loss

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today S7ut

Yes, if you delete the Activision account your progress and all the content related to this account is going to be deleted

According to Activision this happens if you decide to unlink your Activision account from your Xbox account:

"Game progress in Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Warzone is stored on your Activision account, not your platform account. If you choose to link your platform account to another Activision account, your progress will not carry over. Your progress and content aren't lost. If you relink this platform account to the original Activision account, you can continue your progression and access your owned content."
