Using a existing Microsoft as a alias

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. To use a Gmail account that's already associated with a Microsoft account, you would have to remove the email from the Microsoft account so it can be added to your other account.

Note that Microsoft emails such as Outlook or Hotmail can't be changed to another account; removing them from a Microsoft account will permanently delete them.

The email address that you want to use cannot be associated with another MS account.

Unfortunately a Microsoft Account can only have one primary account alias. Since Hotmail.com email addresses are already existing Microsoft Accounts they can not be used to replace existing alias'. You can create a new Outlook.com email to set as your primary
alias.

Hello WithheldPillow, in order to add an Alias to your Microsoft account the email cannot be a Microsoft email that already exists, you have to create it on the spot in the Alias option.

The system only accepts existing emails from other domains like Gmail, Yahoo etc.
