I've allowed multiplayer for my child's Minecraft account on the privacy and online safety page, but the option is still greyed out and showing multiplayer is disabled and to check my microsoft account settings. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

My child is unable to play Minecraft multiplayer after I've changed the settings.

Hi Daniel! My name is Darhyl and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I'm sorry your child is experiencing this with their Minecraft game.

I understand that you have already managed your child's Xbox privacy settings to no avail.

Kindly try to perform the following workarounds using your adult account just in case this would work according to the official Xbox website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help...ttings by selecting View details & customize.

"Sign in to your adult Microsoft account at Xbox.com.

Select the parent account's gamertag, and then select the More actions button (…).

Select Xbox settings, and then select Privacy & online safety. Because you’re accessing sensitive info, you might have to enter your password or PIN.

Select the gamertag for your child's account that you want to manage.

Select the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab or the Privacy tab.

Review the current settings and update all of the options as "Block", and then select Submit to save the changes.

Note: You must select Submit at the bottom of the page before leaving or switching to another tab. If you don't submit the changes before you move to the other tab, your changes won't be saved."

Then sign back into your parent account and update all of the options for your child's account as "Allow" and "Everyone", and then select Submit to save the changes.

Wait up to 24 hours to make sure the changes will be applied.

Then have your child's account sign out and re-sign into Microsoft Store and Minecraft Launcher to see if the multiplayer feature works.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best Regards,
    Darhyl

My child is unable to play Minecraft multiplayer after I've changed the settings.

When I try to change all options to block and hit submit, the page sits there a few minutes and I receive "An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later."

I haven't been able to change these options from the website at all today and had to download the Xbox Family Setting App on my phone to make the changes earlier today.

Unable to play multiplayer in specific games (FIXED)

Check your NAT settings. It needs to be set on Open to be able to play multiplayer.

You also need to go to your privacy and online settings under your account on the website to change your multiplayer settings to allow.

Keep in mind that only adult accounts can change these settings as child account is unable to change them.

    minecraft realms

    Hello,

To change your Microsoft account privacy settings, sign in to the privacy & online safety page, which you should be able to access through the page you’re referring to. You can also make these changes on an Xbox One, Series X|S console or through the Xbox Family settings app.

When adjusting any account settings, make sure to select “submit” to confirm and save these changes.

Note: If you’re using a child account, you’ll need an adult in your family to sign in to their Microsoft account to change your privacy settings.

After allowing the necessary privacy settings and you’re still unable to play online multiplayer in Minecraft Realms, here is a Multiplayer troubleshooting page:

Hope this helps, happy gaming! :)

Parent account doesn't show child exists, but child account shows parent account still.

I have downloaded the app, logged into the parent account, went to settings, clicked on the child account, and enabled Minecraft/multiplayer. But the multiplayer/realms are still disabled in the Minecraft main menu, as is the ability to turn off the profanity filter from the account settings on minecraft.net.

Is there any length of time I should expect before there is a change? Like a "changes may take up to 24 hours to process" type of thing?

I should mention I changed the settings on the Xbox family settings app from both the main menu where it shows the family, as well as the settings.

    Edit:

I've done: Family tab > Member/Child account > Content Restrictions > Enabled every checkbox

as well as: Settings tab > Member/Child account > Manage Minecraft > Enabled every checkbox

Edit again: I do have to go to work so I probably won't respond for a while after this edit. I hope you have a great day. Until later!
