Transferng data using alias

If I add a new email alias and make it my primary. Will my Xbox data transfer to the Microsoft account? (the alias that I just made primary) And all of my data will be saved on the new email that I made primary. or will it just change the email name?

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. Your Xbox profile and data is tied to the Microsoft account it was created for; changing your account's email alias will not affect your Xbox profile or data. It is not possible to transfer this to a different Microsoft account.

On the menu for the Xbox on the top left it shows your gamertag and your Gmail. Does the Gmail change to the new one?

It will change the email used for your Microsoft account, which is what you use to sign in to Xbox. You will keep all of your data.

Please be informed that switching alias or email doesn't mean your game data or account data will be switched as well. Your game data will remain on the original account with different alias.
