1. How to delete System Volume Information from the USB drive.

So this will be my final question before I do the Xbox OSU1 (i am truly sorry for asking more questions) So when I got my USB, (it is a brand new one) I was ready to format it, when I did it, I noticed one file where there which was System Volume Information file. I did not see that file at all but now its there. I tried to delete it but it did not work. So I looked at tutorials and it says to use CMD and put in this code. I did (carefully) and it says access denied. Now I feel so stupid and the USB drive might either be corrupted (might be wrong use of term) or cannot use it anymore. Is there a way I can delete this so I could do my OSU1 Xbox? Just so you know, I need step by step instruction if there is a possible way to do this. This will be my final question and that's it. Thank you and please answer this question.

How to delete System Volume Information from the USB drive.

    Hi, Andrew Bodrov

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

1, Introduction: System Volume Information "is the windows system folder. This folder stores the backup information for System Restore.

System Volume Information folder is a hidden system folder, "System Restore" tool uses this folder to store its information and restore points.

    Deletion method:

Right-click My Computer/Properties/System Restore/Choose "Turn off all restores".

Then delete the System Volume Information folder.

Or My Computer / any disk / Tools / Folder Options / View / Restore Defaults.

(Note: change.log is a system change log, mainly to check the changes of each disk area, not a virus)

    "Deletion of "System Volume Information

In general, the external flash drive in the System Volume Information folder is inaccessible, need to add NTFS permissions

    1. My Computer - Tools - Folder Options - View - Close Hide Protected Operating System Files (recommended) - Hide Files and Folders Select Show All Files and Folders

    2. Check the properties of the System Volume Information file in the flash drive, there will be an additional security options - Add - Advanced - Find Now - double-click your current user name - OK. (If you can not see the security options

(If you can not see the security options: My Computer - Tools - Folder Options - View - Close Simple Sharing)

    3. Go back to the properties of the System Volume Information file - Security Options - select Get Full Control for Permissions.

    4. At this time you can enter the System Volume Information, what is inside, can delete it.

    Completely delete "System Volume Information".

    1. In Run(win+r), type "gpedit.msc" / (Group Policy) program / Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / System Restore / right, turn off System Restore, double-click to open it, enable.

2, in the Run(win+r), type "gpedit.msc" / (Group Policy) program / Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Terminal Services / windows Installer / in the right there will be a "close the creation of the System Restore checkpoints" double-click to open it, select Enable.

After you show the hidden files, there will be a Recycled in each folder, please don't worry that is the Recycle Bin.

There may be translation errors, please take care to correct them

Please note that this is only recommended for unimportant external flash disks, for more information you can search for what is System Volume Information. you can find out more information.

Just so you also know, I discovered this after formatting the drive.

    Xbox 360 tech question

Resize didn't work as the drive ran out of space, so I gave up and deleted the partitions, then added them using Acronis.

I created a 200GB FAT32 volume as the Primary partition on the drive and a 731GB NTFS volume in a Logical partition on the rest of the drive. The 360 allowed me to place a 16GB USB Memory Unit on the 200GB FAT32 partition. It did not delete the NTFS volume.[quote
user="NanoTechSoldier"]I think it has to do with Time-Stamping & if your Xbox's time is wrong from disconnecting it, It will re-write the Partitions on the drive etc..
I have never had the 360 do anything to a drive "by itself". I've hooked NTFS volumes
up to it by accident. and HFS+ volumes on purpose. No issues. It may have in the past popped up dialogs to configure volumes, but that behavior has stopped. Now a drive just shows up in Settings, System, Storage. You have to select it to do anything with it.

Should i get a new xbox
the xbox has never recognized a usb flash drive larger than 16 gb
Wrong.

The 360 can recognize large storage devices just fine. Plug a 64GB USB flash drive into the console with one big FAT32 volume on it? No problem.

Up until Fall 2012, the 360 could only make use of 16GB of a FAT32 volume as a USB Memory Unit. As of the Fall 2012 update, that has doubled to 32GB.

Support finally got around to updating the
    USB flash drive doc
with the 32GB information. Note that to create a USB Memory Unit of maximum capacity, a drive larger than maximum capacity must be used due to differences in how the 360 denotes 32GB vs how storage manufacturers denote 32GB.

    Unsupported disc

    Hey there Dang,

Sorry to hear you're still having issues playing Assassin's Creed.

    You might want to try:

You may want to try deleting the game from your hard drive and redownloading it to a

    USB drive
and try running it from there.

Please let us know how that goes.
