If I sell XBox console can I keep progress on games?

This is probably a silly question (sorry in advance!). I want to sell my son’s Xbox S console, but he wants to keep all his cars on Forza Horizon. He has an Xbox account so I assume everything is stored on the cloud irrespective of me selling the console itself. Can someone please confirm? Also, does the console itself need to be reset/restored to delete any personal information/games or is that info too just stored on the cloud?

Everything is tied to the account. So of you sell the console he will still gave is progress if he uses the same account on a new console.

the games will not run without the account, it is also against the law to give those games away with the console and is also against the TOC.

The games are not yours to give away or sell on, you don't own the games, you purchase a licence to play those games, the licence is between you and the publisher of the game/s, your are in breach of the licence if you do sell them on or give them away.

It is a violation of TOS to sell accounts and doing so, or using them can lead to account and hardware bans

I'm not selling an account. I'm selling the xbox itself which has games preinstalled. I'm wondering can they still use the games even if they have their OWN ACCOUNT.

I would keep the Xbox, no need to sell off a good console. Even with back comp, I want to keep my Xbox consoles.
