Is there any way to turn off the profanity filter so that I can play FFXIV?

I'm just posting to the forums to bring attention to the fact that Final Fantasy XIV has an in-game profanity filter that you can enable/disable. Xbox however, does not. I play this game on the PC and was hoping to be able to play it on my Xbox once it came out. I purchased FFXIV and played it for less than a day before the overbearing profanity filter for Xbox made me realize that it is almost unplayable. It would filter out in-game chat such as:

So????ing - Something

S??? ?o - Said So

Com????r - Computer

Cl??? - Class

Stuf? ?? - Stuff Up

Ou? ??'s - Out it's

Pe???ion - petition

These are examples that I can remember off of the top of my head.

I have already contacted Xbox support and was informed that if I were to find a way around the profanity filter, I would still be considered reportable and deal with the consequences for a system (FFXIV) that already has a disciplinary system in place. I requested a refund immediately and was denied for a game that I played for less than a day, and spent most of my time trying to fix.

I read this comment and immediately thought it wouldn't be helpful. The steps provided for unfiltering message is little to no help.

I did however manage to make use of the link to ask for a refund again, and I will continue to use it until this problem is either resolved, or I get a refund for a product that I will not be using. Thank you!

You can adjust the message filtering.

Please, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Message safety > Unfiltered.

You have to manually decide to turn off the filter. If you make the choice to turn off the filter you should not be able to get someone communication banned just for using a profanity. This is the craziest thing I think I have ever seen, and I've been playing Xbox since like 2008.

In addition to what Zahir_Ramathula said its also because profanity filters arent perfect and dont catch absolutely everything so some things can still slip through even with the profanity filter enabled.

as this is a square Enix game, they are the only ones who can fix it, you should contact their support

Strange. I think you missed the part where OP said "xbox filter is messing with ff14 Profanity Filter if even if it's turned off."
