Inquiry regarding error in modifying child account access permissions

1. How did you change the child's safety settings? Is it through a browser or using Xbox Family settings app?

2. Are you sign in as the parent or organizer of the Micrsoft Family group?

For the meantime, you can try changing the settings through a browser. Follow the steps below:

• Log in to https://account.xbox.com/settings with the parent’s Microsoft account.
  
• Click the child account's profile and click on "More options."
  
• Click on "Content restrictions" and select "Apps, games & media."
  
• Make sure that the "Allow" option is selected for Minecraft.
  
• If the issue persists, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or try using a different browser.

If your account is a child acccount, you needs the permissions to change it BUT all the changes has to complete with the adult account.

Do you have access to the account you originally used to add your son's account?

I ask this question because only the account that added the child account can remove it from the family group.

So, if you have access to this account, please follow these steps to move the child account:

Step 1. Log in to the account here:
https://account.microsoft.com/family/home">https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

Step 2. Click on the dots next to the child account name.

Step 3. Click “remove from family group”.

Step 4. Log in to the new parent account one more time here:
https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

Step 5. Click on “add member” and type the email address of the child account.
As this is a child account, select the role as a “member” of the family.

Step 6. Accept the invitation on the child account, and you should be able to manage the child account permissions.

Problem:

You see the following error and message when you try to sign in to Xbox Live using a child account:

Before you can sign in here, you'll need to sign in at Xbox.com.

An adult will also need to sign in so they can give permission.

Code: 83118853

This means that the parent account must provide permission for each associated child account (under age 13) before the child can access Xbox Live

Solution:

To resolve this issue, have the child account sign in to Xbox.com. Then, when prompted, the parent account associated with the child account should sign in to Xbox.com and give permission for the child account to sign in to Xbox Live.
