I have a maximum limit on a game that my son plays, but it allows him to go over, why?

It's possible that the maximum limit you set for your son's game is not being enforced due to a technical issue.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:



•Check if the maximum limit is still set correctly in your Family Safety settings
You can do this by logging in to your Microsoft account and going to the Family Safety page.

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Settings > Account > Family settings. Select Manage family members, and then choose the member whose settings you want to update. Under Access to content, select the desired age-level.

You can also check this link Set an age limit for content on Xbox | Xbox Support for further guide. If the age is still set correctly, please toggle them to refresh your settings.



•Make sure that your son is signed in to his account when playing the game
The maximum limit is only enforced for the account that it is set for.



•Check if there are any updates available for the game or for your Xbox console
Sometimes, updates can affect the way that Family Safety settings are enforced.

That's interesting I didn't know that my son played the game with the yellow light saber going to have to ask him why he did that and get back to you

Just an update: I have reached the maximum limit allowed for friends. If you would like to play send me a message so i can make space for you.

I agree, most people just need to get used to the pacing of a "by post" kind of game. However, I did just realize that we are only allowed to have a certain number of games going at once. If you have reached your maximum and none of your opponents are
playing, that means you can't start a new game until they play or resign, the game auto-resigns them, or you resign and go down in rank. Now that I know this, I can see why some people aren't fond of the time limit. I still think a week is fine, but it would
be nice if we could have more concurrent games.

Hi, thank you for your response. I had set some items to "Allow" in Xbox settings for my son based on other Q&As that explained how to allow multiple player. It seems like when I set about 4 of those that these articles told me to "Allow" it showed the
public servers. When I set it to allow just friends, it allowed friends but said that he could not access servers due to account settings. When I set to allow just friends and multiplayer, it seemed to allow servers but did not show any of these pre-made
public servers but he had to enter information on the server that he wants to access. So this may be a good place. Thank you.
