I have tried to remove the child from the family group but, "Family members under statutory age need an adult's consent to join a family group. Only the adult that granted consent for Adam can remove this family member. Ask the family organiser who granted Adam consent to remove Adam from the family group."

However, that is me and my email address. I've logged out again and logged back in and it makes no difference. I even tried the "reclaim the adult account" - it goes straight back to my login.

    :)

I have a family account with one child. I want to move that child onto another family account.

Hi Raymond, my name is Rodrigo. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I am sorry to hear that.

Please, try removing the consent first, then remove the account.

    Go to family.microsoft.com.

Sign in with your Microsoft account, then, to remove a member, scroll down and select Manage my child's profile info, find their name, select Remove consent for this child's account, and confirm.

Go back to your family's page, and under the member's name, select More options > Remove from family group, and confirm.

Let me know if it works!

Xbox live family gold plan and MW3

I have multiple accounts on my console. Able to split screen and play MW3 with another. The Family pack allows the parent to control the child account. The parent can use custom settings to allow a minor child to play mature games but not view any
mature video. Don't know about music. Not until the child's birthdate allows them access by becoming an adult. The family pack has one parent account and three child accounts. The child accounts can be used for adult or minor children, spouse, etc. and must
be placed on one console. From there they can be moved tag and license to another console pretty much anywhere the family pack is available. Like when the child moves away he or she can take their account with them on their own console. The problem with the
child account is adding ms points via marketplace need to be purchased from the parent account and an allowance given to a child account. Some issues with Netflix and some other things I can't remember right now. At that point you can remove the child from
the family account and they can just pay for there own account and not lose their tag, license, achievement score etc.

    My account

The determination of whether an account is an adult or child is based on 2 different things.

    1. The Date of Birth that was put onto an account when it was first setup. This can never be changed and until the account hits its 18th birthday it will have to have a parent account attached to it.

If it has reached its 18th birthday then the parental account would have to sign in at account.microsoft.com/family and remove the account from the family at which point it would then be put into its own family as an adult.

Keep in mind if the account is removed from the family as a child account and the date of birth is still under 18 it will not be able to do anything until it is put onto a family account as a child.

    2. Even adult accounts can still be considered child accounts if they are under a family as a child so you would just need to follow the directions above by going to the website and signing in with the adult account and removing the account from the family.

Transferring game progress, xbox ID to another family member in my microsoft account

Unfortunately there is not unless you just decide to give up your account to them and try to set that as a child account. I would just bite the bullet now so to speak and move them to a child account. I now its a hassle and your child may not be happy
about it but it will make things easier on you in the long run. More than likely they will be able to recreate their progress fairly quickly.

The below may mess up what you have already done for the other child accounts.

    1. Log in to Account.Microsoft.Com using the email address for the adult account
    2. Select family
    3. Under Family, select View your Family
    4. select leave family
    5. Sign out from the adult account
    6. Sign in using the parent account
    7. go back to family
    8. select add family member
    9. then select as a child
    10. please follow the same process upon converting another account to a child.

    Child account becoming Adult account

There is two things that determines if an account is a child account

    1. DOB when the account was originally setup.

    2. If the account is in a Family as a child account.

Now if the DOB when the account was originally setup is under 18 by law it is required to be in a family as a child account.

Although an adult account can also be in a family as a child account and be considered as having a child account.

It does not automatically move over to an adult account once the DOB hits its 18th birthday.

Once it hits its 18th birthday you would have to sign into account.microsoft.com/family and remove yourself from the family at which point you will be put into your own family as an adult.
