Lost mods characters and game progress.

My Son plays Minecraft on an Amazon fire pad, I signed him in to my Microsoft account so he was able to play online after I did this, he lost all of his mods and progress on the game. I signed back out, but the progress characters & mods have still been lost. He has not lost any of his worlds they have remained. My wife set up the amazon fire and said she didn’t set up an account for him and i’m not sure where to recover the game from. Any help would be Greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yesterday evening when I saw that there's a 5 GB update for DR3 I first went to the forums to see what has changed. Well I didn't find out, but I saw that many saves got corrupted. So I didn't start the game before 100%. And it seems that really helped.
My save is all right at the moment and I'm not facing any issues.

I too have lost all my character progress after installing the 5GB update. The oddest thing is that my saved game position in Chapter ZERO (I was on my second play thru) still loaded in the same location with the same items in my inventory. But I have zero
blueprints and am level ZERO. I still had my late game combo weapons on my character and on the NPC who was with me at the time of the save. I am very unhappy that my game progress was reset.

did you guys start playing before the update finished installing? looks like it might be better to wait for the whole update to install before playing.

As someone who doesn't mind playing different RPGs through numerous playthoughs (For example Skyrim), it is kind of disappointing when progress gets erased due to Capcom/Microsoft not restricting playing the game when it is installing. If you are not supposed
to play a game while it is getting patched, disable that feature.

As it is, it does leave a sour taste in my mouth, and I'm surprised that they haven't put out a statement or said why they couldn't roll back the saves, which I assume were stored on the cloud.
