Can the Xbox hardware team look into or explain the ongoing Xbox controller polling rate issues

I play a number of competitive games on Xbox, from street fighter 6 to currently Marvel Rivals, and the same issue keeps coming up.

    Latency...

For the longest I couldn't figure it out, games felt worse on my Xbox than they did on PS5. It turns out that the polling rate, not only is it capped but the elite controllers have more INPUT delay than the standard series controllers.

With cross play being big now, it's really hard to justify playing certain games on Xbox with this issue.

At least release a 1st part option for the competitive enthusiast that wants to play on Xbox 1st.

    :)

    Hi Drkphx,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing input delay with your controller. As a competitive fighting game player myself, I definitely understand where you're coming as I know that each frame counts in terms of these titles.

There are two things that you may want to consider, I will share it with you even if I think that you would already know them. First, please make sure that you have the latest firmware on your controller and console. Second, use wired controller - Wired controllers will have a more stable connection and more responsive buttons because they have lower input latency.

I want to make sure that your feedback will reach proper teams in Xbox, I would recommend that you submit it through any of the following channels:

    Windows Feedback Hub app

    1. Press the Start button and search for Feedback Hub

    2. Open the app and select Suggest a feature

    3. Summarize your feedback

    4. Explain in more detail if possible

    5. Select Submit

    Xbox console

    1. Press and hold the Xbox button

    2. Select Report a problem

    3. Choose the most appropriate category and subcategory from each dropdown

Can we get better polling rate on xbox controllers?

you must be trolling bro. this was a useless “answer” that doesn’t even talk about the issue at hand. playstation controllers can be overclocked to 1000hz polling rate, meanwhile ALL official xbox controllers are hard capped at around 125hz polling rate. all we want is a controller that does NOT have a capped polling rate. please.

    Clavier souris [translation-Mouse keyboard ]

Given the variety of modern mice and keyboards on the market, it comes as no surprise issues are arising in the early days. Current reports detail extensive latency in Fortnite exclusively, with both Warframe and Minecraft mostly absent of the issue, indicating
something isn't playing nice with Microsoft and Epic Games' solution.

It's hard to identify a fix, but one likely culprit could be polling rates, essentially the response time of a mouse, measured in Hz. For example, a mouse with a polling rate of 500Hz will report its position to the PC or console 500 times each second. While
a higher polling rate means finer control in theory, it requires both hardware and software to keep up, which can be a cause of input issues.

Alternatively, if you have multiple mice in the home, switching it out could be a temporary fix until Microsoft addresses the issue.

    Keyboard and mouse

Most "Gaming" mice have an exceptionally high poll rate and DPI resolution, which isn't properly supported in some games yet.

If your mouse came with a configuration software that allows you to change the DPI sensitivity or the Poll rate, try to set the mouse to a lower DPI and poll rate (125Hz poll rate is recommended).

If you are unable to change the poll rate or DPI sensitivity, then you can't use that gaming mouse on the Xbox One yet.

If you really need a dedicated Xbox gaming mouse, wait for the official Xbox One Razer gaming mouse, or simply get yourself a cheap office/business mouse instead of an expensive gaming mouse.
