Shouldn't it be illegal/a violation to threaten someone's life in an Xbox message?

Was playing a game last night and a fella was irritated that I didn't let him in the squad I was in... So he proceeded to team kill me in the game and then send me a bunch of harassing messages and Xbox chat. At one point I said something to him about how his parents must be proud and then he said he killed his parents and that I was next... While I do not take his threat seriously I think the Xbox community standards absolutely should and people like that should not be allowed to communicate with other people online.

If you haven't already, report them so the enforcement team can investigate them. That is definitely not allowed on the service. If you feel like it's a threat offline as well, contact the police.

So if report them and they actually are threatening to ddos because I have the message a message from the person should be enough I shouldn't take the fall if someone is threatening me isn't that in the code of conduct plus there swearing and that's also
in the code of conduct like I said someone threatening me I've tried to contact my ISP they cant do anything the router doesn't change IP addresses its random it's on a lease and I tried getting the police involved they looked at me like I had 10 heads and
like I said I shouldn't be paying for security aka the gold subscription where people are hacking and etc

If someone is threatening your LIFE! That is cause to file a Police Report.

I disagree with your assessment. I exchanged messages with both the people in question. One guy I exchanged the messages with received several reports from my part because he was threatening my life. The other guy sent me messages back just the same way
i sent him messages. Yet in the instance that my life is threatened xbox does not suspend his account? This guy kept it up for days. Yet in the instance where I literally sent ONE message with ONE curse word, I get suspended? Which I mean come on guys, code
of conduct aside we can all agree when someone is being a jerk right? Why do I get a suspension for one curse word, and the other guy gets to continue threatening my life for days? The policy enforcement you are describing here doesn't reconcile to the events.

Report the profile that threatened you to Microsoft and block them. Chances are he's just trying to scare you. I've heard that threat before as well and nothing ever happened to me. It's just someone who is angry. It's not illegal to threaten to hack someone
however, if said user DID hack you, that would be a different story.
