Xbox reboots and then shutdown itself if it tries to access an assumed corrupted Xbox HDD.

The 4TB drive was connected for years at my XSX and then suddenly a few months ago the XSX on power up ran into this reboot and the power down condition.

Took me a while to find out it was due the drive.

The XSX did even reboot/powerdown when I tried the safe boot feature. I saw the screen shortly..then reboot.

The drive itself is perfectly ok. I did a reformat on a Mac. Afterwards the XSX accepted it again and reinitialised it.

I assume something happened which either corrupted the filesystem or some system relevant data.

But in neither case should the XSX ever reboots(due a crash I assume) and then power down.

That indicates some serious issues in either the filesystem init/check/repair phase or missing checks of data the OS uses from such drive at such stage.

It's not far fetched that if the OS can crash on unexpected data or invalid FS states that there might be the potential for backdoor too.

I really hope this gets passed to the Xbox team

    Live Tv displays "debug"

Sounds like something crashed within the TV app itself. Does your OneGuide work? Have you tried a Hard-Shutdown of the console and rebooting? I assume something incorrect happened when it pulled channel data.

Ah, I follow you now. It could be a Tuesday thing and I've also noticed it can take a couple of tries. Hopefully it'll sort itself out for you otherwise, it may be doing a full shutdown/power-cycle of your console (assuming that's how you're accessing it).

    Xbox 360 won't load apps - error 8015000A

unfortunate to hear this issue, but it might not be the Xbox itself, the hdd could have a corrupt file and be causing the issue, unfortunately you would need to get a second hdd to find out if this was the case

Unreadable disc even tho its a downloaded game?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I would try two different things. First since the purchases you have made are stored, I would delete the game and reload it. Second, I would shutdown the xbox, pull out the HDD and clean the contacts with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Third, I would
copy my profile onto a usb stick and format my HDD. It sounds like the HDD is corrupted.

Profile gets corrupted again and again

Does the profile corrupt even when you leave it on the USB drive and have it save to that instead of the HDD?? I notice you said you downloaded it to USB and a day later it corrupted but I cant tell if that means you moved it back to HDD.

The only thing I can think of is, if the profile as well as other files are becoming corrupt as they save to the HDD, there could be an issue with it. By Old Xbox model I assume you mean Original and not the new S models?. I would check to make sure the
HDD itself, is plugged in properly and not loose. Also when you did the transfer of content to the new HDD, did you use a USB method or the official Transfer cable, only reason I ask is because if it wasnt an official cable, it could have caused corrupt files
to appear on the HDD and as a result is also corrupting your profile when you play games containing bad content.

Make sure you have done a proper license transfer Via Xbox.com (if required) as you might wanna try reformatting the HDD from the Settings menu on the system.. (Though, back up all your saves you don't wanna lose first) This format might help correct any errors
that are on the drive, and the license transfer will ensure you don't lose your paid content.

If it continues to corrupt beyond this point, the HDD itself may be faulty and will either require a swap at the store you bought it, or a repair from the xbox team (providing they do HDD repairs)

    Let us know what happens.
