I've been in Alpha ring for many years. About 10 months ago Prime Video starting loading so slowly that watching videos would time-out and fail. I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps in all the not-helpful search results I've found. It's seems that a LOT of people are having this problem.

EDIT: Not sure it's relevant, but it seemed to be around the same time Amazon started the ads/pay for no ads garbage.

One of the workarounds I've found said to use the Xbox app on your phone, use the remote option of the app, and select the video you want to watch. I tried to set up that feature of the phone app by connecting the app to my console. That process failed.

All of this got me thinking about whether being in the Alpha ring creates a mismatch between the OS version I'm using and the software I'm trying to run.

At this point, the only way I can watch prime video on something bigger than a laptop screen is to use the Prime app on my Samsung TV and circumvent my series X completely.

Has anyone in this community of more knowledgeable folks had any experience with this and if so did you find a way to fix it? Am I on to something with the mismatch idea?

(Just for thoroughness, I've done reinstalls, wired and wifi, reboots, all my other streaming apps work just fine, and prime works fine in my phone/laptop/ps5)
