5TB external hard drive says i only have 465GB available

A Typical 500GB hard drive will actually be 465GB after formatting. The Xbox One will however have 3 operating systems. These OS's will be pre-installed on the hard drive. After that I would say it will probably have about 450GB available to the end user.

I already have a 5TB external hard drive. That's why I wanted to go for the 500GB

Please disregard post. I misunderstood the way that the xbox 360 utilizes space on the external hard drives. I made the mistake of believing I should have a full 500GB on the drive when I know better. 500GB really mean 465GB

I use a 5TB external hard drive and it suits my needs. I've had my Xbox One since launch and I just hit about 85% on my hard drive storage. I have nearly 250 games installed. I highly suggest to anyone considering an external hard drive to invest in a
nice sizable one.

So many games now a days are just getting bigger and bigger with higher graphics so it takes so much for hard drive space. Making the default hard drive would be nice but as of now I have a 5tb external!
