Xbox Design Lab Controller has Stick Drift out of the box.

Ordered a controller with a customized shell through Design Lab to play games on PC a few weeks ago, and it arrived with the right stick having bad drift at all times. Warranty is still up and I *can* send it in for repairs, but Microsoft Support says I will get a different controller as a replacement. This is unacceptable to me: I ordered a controller that has customized colors, buttons and engraving, but now I have to choose between either losing my money spent on my customizations or dealing with a faulty product that never worked properly to begin with. I know Microsoft has a "no refund" policy for Design Lab controllers, so I know I can't do that.

Is there any way I can guarantee that I can receive a controller with the same customizations if I send it in? If not, then how can I fix the drift on my controller without sending it in? This is really frustrating to have to put up with, and if there's no way to receive both a functioning product and the custom design I paid extra for, then I guess I'm never buying an Xbox controller again.
