    Xbox Series X Capture not working


    Since about 10pm ET last night I am unable to capture gameplay on my series x. It was working prior to that. When I hit the button I have mapped nothing happens. I tested the button to make sure it's not my controller and it works. I have also tried manually doing a capture through the menu and it won't kick off a capture either. I have tried both internal storage and external. I have reset the controller mapping. I have updated the firmware for the controller. I have done a hard reboot of my xbox and it does not work. Any ideas? Is there a global issue happening with capture?

    Game captures are terrible.

    Xbox series x. There is so much documentation about this issue, no-one has a solution (apart from streaming on twitch, saving the vod and then editing the video). Compared with my xbox one captures, taken well over a year ago, they are awful, choppy, stuttering messes. This is not a problem on my end, this is a problem with the xbox series x capture system. The fact captures are STILL terrible is a joke, given the series x was released over 18 months ago.

    Yes the USB drive is brand new and works on the computer. Tried all prior fixes listed above and nothing. Files work on the drive. Trying to capture gameplay on Xbox series x. Won’t recognize as an option to change the location of capture and share to the jump drive.

    When watching the clips you sent I didn't notice artifacts in the recording, but I noticed a drop in image quality due to the encoder used by the site, and also probably due to the bit rate used in the video. These clips you recorded, is it on your console's internal SSD or an external HD?
