How can I link my Bethesda.net Account to my Xbox email? Everytime I try, I get an error....

Everytime i attempt ti log into my x box live, i am told that i need to confirm my email and password on my account. So, i do that. It gives me the same error code everytime. I’ve tried everything. I need help. I know its not an issue with my email or password.
The error code i recieve : 80072741

I currently have funds in my account. But everytime I try to purchase an item and have to use remaining balance on my credit card I get an error. And can not preceed. The only way I can get the item is not use my Microsoft funds. Why is this and how can
we fix this.

I have just created a new gamertag with a new email address and everything has worked fine.

When i try and recover my account that i am on xbox.com with it will NOT recover throws up the same error everytime 80072EFE.

My account is on my xbox one though.

Thank you for such a prompt response. I neglected to say that I did try to delete/change my Xbox live email to add my Hotmail email. This did not work as I have used it on my PC to set up this account and therefore I get an error on the Xbox saying
that the ID I am trying to use is associated with another Xbox ID. Therein lies the issue. How do I delete this account so I can use the email attached to it on my Xbox account? Also I can't delete the Xbox live account as I went "gold" with that account.
Can "Gold" status be transferred to the account? If it can then that may be a solution to this issue.

it happend the same if i try put my account on USB, only with one account i get it on other accounts i dont get it....
