    Xbox One power mode question


    Hi I have Original Xbox One, the old one. There are two options there when it comes to power mode, energy saving and instant on, although the names for these settings probably different now. Anyways does it only effect the way Xbox shuts down and wakes up or does it also effect the picture quality? For example if you have Xbox set to energy saving, does your picture dim or get darker when you play video games?

    Hi ECW_guy, I’m Ryan.

    No, the power mode shouldn’t affect the picture quality or overall performance in any way. It only affects the amount of time your console takes to power on, the energy consumption, and features such as remote installation and remote play require standby/sleep mode (previously known as Instant on) to be enabled.

    Thanks for reaching out to us today! To answer your question, It is normal for the USB port to still work even on energy saving mode. Having your console either on energy saving mode or Instant-on won't affect the functionality of the USB ports on the Xbox.
