My xbox series x makes a weird grinding noise when i insert a disc

The disc works perfectly fine on other xbox but not on my xbox series x the game is hot wheels unleashed

Is this happening with only this game disc or with all of them?

Have you ejected the disc to check if it was marked/scratched by the console?

Grinding noises are not normal, I recommend you submit a repair request in case this is happening with more than one disc and if the noise is too loud or it's scratching the discs.

Is it only doing it when you insert the disc or the whole time? How loud is it?

If it’s worrisome or bothersome take it back and exchange it. It should be making any noise and especially a grinding noise.

Hi, when i insert a disc into my Xbox One it starts making a grinding noise and then pops up with the 'Insert the game disc' message. Ive had the console for many years and its the first time its started doing this. Any help/advice?

Any sort of grinding noise is not a good sign. Arrange a repair or replacement.

I had to replace a Series X that had a grinding disc drive just 6 months after I purchased it.

This is a serious issue with the drive and was a very common issue with early systems. Really nothing you can do but get it repaired/replace here:
