    Can't Hear Discord Chat With My Audio Setup


    I have a pretty niche audio setup with Xbox that's worked great for me for ages with Xbox party chat. Unfortunately it doesn't work with Discord on Xbox which is frustrating when I'm playing with people crossplatform.

    I play at a desk and use proper headphones (open back Sennheisers). For clear and crisp audio I plug them into my monitor to get fully wired audio, not the controller which is wireless and lossy. To speak I use a mod mic plugged into my controller. As mentioned this setup works flawlessly for Xbox party chat but when I'm in a Discord call, I can't hear people. Discord seems to direct the chat audio to the controller rather than the HDMI, so I can't hear Discord chat.

    Would be nice if this could be addressed, I'm sure other people do similar things, that's why there's an HDMI headset option in the settings afterall. If it worked the same as Xbox party chat and both HDMI and wireless audio channels could be used simultaneously that would be ideal.

    I have a similar setup, but instead of using the party chat audio trough the controller, I use the Xbox app on the Pc, that way I'm only using the Hdmi audio, only issue is with in-game chat as you would be able to hear buth not talk to friends, usually if they are on a different platform, for that you can use discord

    Honestly the best option here for separating the audio would be Discord (or another 3rd party chat program) and I'm quite surprised that you say the audio on there isn't as good as Xbox because from my experience audio in Discord is much better. You may
    want to check your settings in Discord and make sure it's all good there.

    no burden, they can install discord on their phones and you can all live chat in your own free discord server, it basically works the same way as whatsapp group calling, all you have to do is push your audio from your disord to the stream. plus the audio quality on discord is a thousand times better than in game party or xbox live party chats.

    I'm not hearing chat audio through my X41 at all, although others can hear me. I tried all combinations of volume controls on the headphones, on the cord, the mute button on the X41, volume controls on the adapter, but still can't hear chat.
