    Windows 11 Xbox Controller cannot disable taking screenshots


    I cannot find the setting to disable the functionality of the Xbox controller taking a screenshot when I press the button.

    I use that button for steam screenshots so it is very annoying that a gamebar screenshot is also being taken.

    Can you provide a screenshot of what you're describing please?

    There isn't an 'Xbox Mode' on either Windows 10 or Windows 11. It sounds like the Xbox App is starting with Windows. You can disable this from within the Xbox app itself.

    its a poorly worked feature for windows 11 only, not coming to windows 10, not much you can do with it apart take a screenshot or start a recording, no record that functions at all, you cannot customise it either. basically, a waste of a button on pc.

    tap for screenshot and press hold for record, they are the only options available to windows 11 pc's with the share button. it cannot be customised which to me is plain stupid.

    Actually no .... shortly thereafter "B" button is taking screenshots. Fortunately I also own an Xbox One X, so I decided to connect the Elite to it and lo and behold!! I triggered a firmware update for the controller!! Not sure why Windows 11 Accessories app didn't see that when connected with usb c. (I am on the dev channel with 11). Anyway we'll see if that sorted it. Thanks for sticking with me on this!! Stay tuned....

    it will never happen when they keep saying gaming is better on windows 11, when it clearly is not. most you can do is set it to take screenshots via steam.
