Why’s is my Xbox series x making a clicking noise then stopping my installations

This does not seem to be normal.

Is it happening constantly? Please, reset the console and observe if it still happens, if it does, I recommend you submit a repair request.

Before you continue, make sure you've got the account sign-in information. You'll need it to log back into your console after the reset.

You can follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Select Reset and keep my games & apps.

My console always had coil whine, but that's not what I'm talking about. My Series X as of recently started making a hard drive like clicking sound, but only when idle and I'm on the home screen. And soon as I start a game, the noise completely stops. My Series X always made a low electrical buzzing sound when games were running and still does. With that being said, that's not what I'm concerned about, it's a clicking like sound that constantly continues until I launch a game and then it stops and the normal coil whine kicks in depending on the game.

When the surround speakers are off i still get the noise through my headphones, The headphones i use are jbl quantum 400 . When i got my xbox series x i didnt get the noise but 3 months later after i got it it started making those noises. Also I did not power off my xbox i used to fully shut down it from settings

My friend who plays with an xbox series x doesnt shut down it and he doesnt get the double sound when he clicks on games but he still doesnt get the sound when he goes back from home. Also when you open home and then go on a game from home and click more options on a game (from where you quit a game) then it starts making the right noises but when you shut down the xbox and power it on again it starts doing it again.

Not sure about either, it's currently been on for a few hours today and has not made the sound yet.

Maybe just in case I should take it to get it cleaned?
