  1. Not receiving Xbox party notifications on Game Bar App!

I still receive messages and message notifications on my game bar and I receive party invites on my regular Xbox, but I don't receive any notifications on my game bar. I've already reset the app, but it's still not working. Do you have any ideas?

I dont get party invites on my Xbox game bar - PC VERSION

Xbox companion app is discontinued, and the "Party Invitations" and "Games" notification settings are nonexistent in the Xbox PC app. Settings for invites and messages are all on the Game Bar app for PC.

You'll just have to make sure these settings are checked after reinstalling the game bar @ (Game Bar)Settings>Notifications>Xbox Social>Notify me when I'm invited to a party or multiplayer game

    Xbox Game Bar (beta) notifications

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with the Xbox App on PC. I recommend to try this link: Troubleshoot
Xbox Game Bar on Windows 10
    .

If the issue persists, try this:

    1. Click Start, and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.

    2. Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.

    3. Type the following command to uninstall Xbox app: Get-AppxPackage
    *xboxapp*| Remove-AppxPackage

    4. Hit Enter.

Launch Windows Store and download Xbox App.

Give this a try and let us know the results.
That did not help at all.

I've tested it a bit more.

I have an Xbox One, iOS Xbox app and PC with Xbox Companion App and Xbox Game Bar (beta) and my family helped me test it with their accounts

I can receive notifications about party invites from everyone when I am on my Xbox One. This actually works fine.

I can only receive notifications from parties created by Xbox Companion app on my iOS Xbox app. No notifications about party invites sent from Xbox One.

I can join any parties both on my iOS app and on my Xbox One console.

On my PC I can only receive message notifications and voice chat requests both in my Xbox Game Bar and Xbox Companion.

I do not receive any notifications about invites to party neither in Xbox Companion, nor in Xbox Game Bar

From my Xbox Companion I can join open parties that were created by Xbox Companion on another PC if I click on a friend's name.

From my Xbox Companion I CANNOT join open parties that were created on Xbox One console, even if I click on a friend's name and see that he is in a party

From my Xbox Game Bar there is NO option to specifically join a party if a friend is in one, if I choose to "join voice chat" I join a different voice chat and not the one that he has with his party.

Please sort this out. This stuff is actually messing up my ability to join premade groups in Gears 5 multiplayer and I am wasting that XP boost that I got for paying for a deluxe version of the game!

I dont get party invites on my Xbox game bar - PC VERSION

In the post you read, the author suggests that you follow these steps to fix an issue with party invites in the Xbox Game Bar for PC:

    1. You disable the Game Bar in the Settings app.

    2. You open Powershell with administrator privileges.

    3. You copy a command line into Powershell.
You press Enter to run the command line.

    4. You open the Xbox Companion app.

    5. You enable notifications for party and game invites in the Xbox Companion app.

The command line that you must copy into Powershell is the following:

    get-appxpackage *gamingoverlay* | remove-appxpackage

This command line tells Powershell to find all application packages that contain the string "gamingoverlay" and then delete them. In this case, the string "gamingoverlay" refers to the Xbox Game Bar.

By removing the Game Bar, you are restoring the Game Bar's default settings. This can solve some problems, like the one you're experiencing with party invitations.

Once you've removed the Game Bar, you need to re-enable it in the Xbox Companion app. To do this, open the Xbox Companion app and go to Settings > Notifications. Next, make sure “Party Invitations” and “Games” are enabled.

Following these steps may resolve issues with party invitations on your Xbox Game Bar on PC.

Here is a more detailed explanation of each step:

Disable the Game Bar in the Settings app

To disable the Game Bar in the Settings app, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Settings app.
    2. Click "Games."
    3. Turn off the "Game Bar" switch.
    4. Open Powershell with administrator privileges

To open Powershell with administrator privileges, follow these steps:

    1. Press Windows key + X.
    2. Click "Windows Powershell (Admin)".
    3. Copy the command line to Powershell

To copy the command line into Powershell, follow these steps:

    1. Select the command line.
    2. Right-click and select "Copy".
    3. Run the command line in Powershell

To run the command line in Powershell, follow these steps:

    1. Paste the command line into the Powershell window.
    2. Press Enter.
    3. Enable party and game invite notifications in the Xbox Companion app

To enable party and game invite notifications in the Xbox Companion app, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Xbox Companion app.
    2. Click "Settings".
    3. Click "Notifications."
    4. Make sure "Party Invitations" and "Games" are enabled.

Party Chat invites on Xbox Companion App on PC

I think the party invite notification was removed and put on the Xbox Game bar instead, if you launch the game bar by pressing windows key and g, then goto settings - social, you should find an option to turn on notification for invites to party.

No longer getting Game Bar notifications

I'm having the same issue please can this update be reverted it's completely messed up achievement and party notifications I don't receive them at all anymore, I have done all the troubleshooting steps and made sure all boxes for notifications are ticked in windows settings, game bar and Xbox app. The only fix I was able to find was to revert to a previous version of game bar using uptodown which is annoying because it's always prompting me to update to the current broken version. Any efforts is appreciated
