I'm sorry to hear that you are having this problem, I don't know what type of image you are trying to put on your profile, but when you upload it and it automatically scans it through the system, not only for content but also for size and format.

If you're having trouble updating through the Xbox app, try updating through the Xbox website.

To do this, log in to the site with your account and then click on the image in the upper right corner again and choose "Xbox Profile" on the next page, click "Customize", then on the next page click on "Change player image".

why would whats happening in the real world, affect the ability to change your pfp on xbox?

they denied it but they PERMA banned for a pfp not cheats not doing anything else a pfp a bit to much for a pfp of Osama bin ladder not ladden they could of at least banned me from changing my pfp not ban my whole account.

No. You don't have to pay to change your pfp. It might have thought you meant your gamertag.

It's an issue with the servers. A lot of people are having the same issue. All you can do is wait for it to be fixed.
