Seagate external expansion ssd card not working

I bought a external seagate expansion card 2TB to use on my Xbox series S and it’ll allow me to down things to it and once I try to play any game off of it it’ll play 2-3 minutes then kicks you back to the menu saying reinsert hard drive and a message pops up at the bottom of the screen 10-15 seconds later saying external hard drive is ready to go. I’ve done everything you can think of and nothing is working

So the external seagate ssd for xbox is usb3.0 with 500mbps read and write speed right? I have two of them and i see alot of people saying "its because the external ssds are too slow to play games on,you can only play series x or enhanced one x games on internal or the seagate expansion ssd card" but alot of external ssds are fast enough? No?

There are two drives, with some different capacity options

The biggest difference is that if you want to play the Series X/S version of games they must be installed on the internal SSD or the Seagate SSD Expansion card. They cannot be installed on an external USB 3.0 drive, Quick Resume will also not work with any external USB drive. Previous generation games can still be launched from an external drive.

Personally I have the Seagate expansion SSD and prefer the speed and convenience it offers knowing that no matter what I'm installing the best version of the game and able to use all the enhancements that comes from playing on a Series X. It's worth noting that for the price, it's not much more that some of the high performances SSDs available for PC but it is definitely not cheap.

It's impossible to say if it's the port or the card itself without doing any testing.

If you're able to return it to the retailer and get a replacement, that's the first thing I would do, then if the replacement is the same, you know it's almost certainly not the card that's the issue.

Geez cell phones. I meant Seagate is top notch. WD great too. SSD is great, but you have to "build" your own housing. The Seagate Barracuda is outstanding for SSD. But if you are not wanting to build you own housing, then you should go to the Seagate
expansion external hard drive. Major Nelson is currently using the Seagate Expansion and says it works great
