    I cannot add money to my child's account. Why?


    I used to be able to add money to my child's account on my Xbox family app. Now I have tried for many days and it says they are experiencing trouble with my transaction and I cannot add the money. Why?

    I have tried different credit cards too

    We understand that you are having trouble adding money to your child's account and have tried different credit cards but still experiencing the same issue. I'm here to help you with that.

    Before we proceed, just want to confirm if this works in the past? If so, I will be providing possible solutions:

    1. There could be a temporary issue with the Microsoft Services: You can check the status of Xbox Live services and apps on the official Xbox Live Status page.
    2. Sometimes, certain browsers or devices may not display all the elements on a webpage correctly. If you haven't already, try using a different browser or device to navigate to the activation page.
    3. You can try adding the money to your child's account directly. Here's how:

      - Go to account.microsoft.com/family and sign in with you Microsoft account (the adult account where your child added with).

      - Find your child's name and select More options > spending > Add money and follow the instructions.
    4. Check Purchase settings: Make sure that the purchase settings for your child's account are set up correctly.

      - Sign-in to Family page with an adult Microsoft account.

      - Find the child's name and select More options > spending.

      - Under the ask to buy section, switch needs organizer approval to buy things to Off.

    5. If all the options provided above, doesn't work, kindly make sure to proceed to Contact Xbox Support directly. They will be able to look into the issue further and provide you with more specific troubleshooting steps.

      * Scroll down and look at the lower left side if you can see the page that matches your country/region which you currently located.

      * If not. please select the country region it is showing and select the correct one among the lists.

      * Make sure to use the check the available contact times of the support.

      * Select the drop-down menu options that will match your concern.

      * Select the drop-down menu options that will match your concern.

      * The next window will provide you with support articles based on your request and we recommend reviewing the relevant articles before selecting the "See contact options" button.

      * On the final window, you will be presented with multiple options. We suggest selecting either the "Chat online" or the "Request a call" options to speak with someone. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible.

      * If you cannot get connected to the support, please use the Virtual Agent and enter this exact phrase, "Talk to an agent".

      * Should you be encountering issues contacting support, may try InPrivate Windows for your browser, other browser, different device/s or connect to different network.

    Thanks for your response Brad. I tried a few more times on the website and it worked eventually 😁. If it happens again i'll try doing it on the Xbox instead.

    Hello Kam,

    Sorry for the issue with adding funds. Have you tried doing this on the Xbox or the website. There were issues with doing this on the website. You can try to add the card to your child's account purchase the currency then remove the card. as a temporary
    work around.
