Paid for gamertag change gamertag still hasn't updated

I understand that you are having problems with your newly purchased gamer tag. This issue can sometimes occur due to a delay in the Xbox Live Server updating your profile information. Kindly try to perform the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Sign out of your Xbox account and restart your console.

2. Sign in again and go to Settings > Personalization > My profile > Customize profile.

3. Select your gamertag and press A to edit it.

4. Confirm your gamertag and press B to save it.

5. Launch any game and check if your gamertag is updated.

You can also try to sign in to social.xbox.com to see if your gamer tag has been updated. If the old gamer tag is still showing up, try to proceed if you can change your gamer tag for free. Do not proceed if it will charge you.

definitely be concerning. I suggest
removing and redownloading the account if you haven't done so already.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

There can sometimes be a slight delay in seeing your new gamertag change but if you follow the steps provided by 'XBA {Parity}' to power cycle your console that should help sort it out. If that doesn't fix the issue you could also try removing your profile
from the console and downloading it again as that can usually help fix this issue. One more thing I would try if the above methods fail is to restart your Modem/router. Hope these suggestions work for you and if there is anything else you need to know don't
