    Why would I change my region if I live in Australia. We have dollars (AU Dollars) and many other countries use dollar denominations.

    To the OP.. Don't change your region.

    Kindly check first if you have sufficient Microsoft account currency to be able to purchase the game or content. It is possible that it has tax included which is over the credit you have. The system will ask for a payment method if don't cover the price.

    If it covers the total amount with tax included, make sure the region of your console is set to the United States since you mentioned that you redeemed Dollars currency.
