We agree with you that one of the reasons why the audio won't work when using a third-party headset is compatibility issue. You may check it from the headset manufacturer web site or contact their support to know if that is compatible. If we may ask, is this happening to all the games or just a specific game? It is possible that it is caused by the incorrect settings or output selected. For the meantime, follow these steps to identify what is causing the problem.

1. Run the Audio setup tool.

• Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
  
• Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output.
  
• Select the Audio setup option under Advanced.
  
• Highlight the audio setup option you wish to use and then press the A button to begin the audio test.
  

Note The audio setup options in this list will vary depending on the audio setup your console detects. The console will only display the options that are available to test.

2. To adjust the level of sound while communicating, adjust the Chat mixer settings.

• Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
  
• Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output.
  
• Under Advanced, select Additional options, and then select Chat mixer.
  
• Select one of the available options.

This did not resolve my issue I had to change controllers I think it was the controller I was using.

I'm using RIG 400 HX and i'm in love with this headset. Maybe in near future I'll buy RIG 800 LX

Thank you for responding, I am on an xbox series s and I believe it started today after I connected a wireless headset I have also tried restarting my xbox but it didn't work.
