Can Xbox game pass ultimate be used on pc without additional pay?

I’ve played on Xbox my whole life and am currently paying for Xbox game pass ultimate. I recently got a pc and want to play a couple of my Xbox games on pc. I sign in with the same account as my Xbox but when I go to download a game it says purchase pc game pass. So I have to pay for game pass ultimate and pc game pass just to play the same games??

I got it! Turns out I was signed in on the right account in the Xbox app but wasn’t signed in on the right account on the Microsoft store.

If you pick up Game Pass Ultimate it includes the Xbox Live Gold, Game Pass (for Xbox) and the Game Pass (for PC). With that subscription you pay only one thing to have it all. For the normal Game Pass you need Gold in addition. Hope that helps.

It depends on what Game Pass it is. If it's PS Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate, you can use it on a PC without an Xbox.

Game Pass is essentially Netflix but for gaming. It gives you access to a library of games you can play without having to purchase them individually.

From my own personal experience I have learned that an ultimate subscription works differently on PC compared to Xbox. I'm not sure if you both are paying for ultimate but on PC only the account paying for the subscription gets to use the subscription. For example if I am paying for a ultimate subscription and have two accounts only the account paying for the subscription will be recognized as being a Game pass Ultimate Subscriber, the second account will just be seen as a regular user without a subscription.
