Series X stuck on "Finishing things up"

There is a thing with Xbox Series X where you turn it on and it stuck on the loading thing like the sign in. Maybe try asking Microsoft directly.

Same thing is happening with my Xbox series x and my boyfriend Xbox 1. Tried everything and still stuck on the sign in page.

I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

"1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​"

If that didn't work may I ask if you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause issues as well.

I havent seen the series, but I know series 5 will be the last and will tie things up. I assume that any game companies are waiting for the series to be finished so they can make the game.

I'm also on a Series X and I've noticed this too. With fairly small games, sometimes I can delete the entire game and re-download it faster than I can download a small update for it and wait for the "finishing things up" thing to finish.

If it's decompressing and/or verifying data, I don't see why it would sometimes take way longer to do that with a small update for a small game, compared to a huge update for a huge game, but it does. Unfortunately I've never seen an MS dev give a full explanation of what exactly is going on during the "Finishing things up" stage, likely because they're under NDA.
