Why do i have to download minecraft again

We just need to locate the Microsoft account where you redeemed the game code for Minecraft. Please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders using all Microsoft accounts that you own, make sure that the game is showing as “completed” or “redeemed”.

Once you were able to locate the game, make sure that you’re signed in under that account on your Xbox console.

In the Minecraft Launcher go to View All Accounts in the drop-down under your icon, and add a Microsoft account. Put in the info you use to log into Dungeons. Now you have to switch between accounts to play Dungeons (Microsoft) or Minecraft Java (Mojang) but it's all saved in the launcher.

Because the console version will only work on the console. The game would need to support Play Anywhere in order to be able to play it on both the console and PC without having to repurchase it.

Where did you purchased Minecraft?
Using the Microsoft Store or the Minecraft.net website?

If it was via Microsoft store, are you able to see the purchase in your Microsoft account order history with status completed?

Once there, make sure to change the "3 months" filter and use instead "All available" next to "Ordered within"
Then start looking each item purchased with your account and see if you're able to find the game with order status "completed"

If you have more than one email please check the order history with each one
